We are delivering the abundance all around us to those in need to help eliminate hunger and poverty in our communities. Selflessness - we aid those in need cheerfully and lovingly without any thought of reward. Appreciation - we want our volunteers, donors, and recipients to know they have clear pathways of communication, and to know they are valued and appreciated. Collaboration - we recognize that through working together and listening to all volunteers, recipients, and donors, we will arrive at better solutions than we could have found alone. Our Story: White Pony Express (WPE) was founded by Dr. Carol Weyland Conner on September 2013. She was troubled by the fact that in a county of tremendous abundance, thousands of people go hungry each day and many more suffer from inadequate, unhealthy diets. And yet, at the same time, grocers, retailers, food manufacturers, and restaurants often are discarding thousands of pounds of high-quality fresh food every day due to artificially created “Sell By” dates, excess inventory, or simply because it doesn’t meet presentation standards for the average customer. Our Goal: As a nonprofit, it is our mission to eliminate hunger and poverty by bridging the gap between excess and need. We believe there's enough to go around and that all of us CAN take care of all of us.
