Western Canadian Spill Services Ltd. (WCSS) is a non-profit corporation that operates on a cost-recovery basis. We provide oil spill contingency planning, preparedness, training and spill response equipment to members of Western Canada's upstream petroleum industry. WCSS embodies the oil & gas industry's commitment to environmental protection through spill preparedness and response support. Our approach is collaborative; volunteers, including industry leaders within each of our 9 oil spill cooperatives, work together to ensure our members are prepared to safely and effectively respond to oil spills. Oil Spill Containment and Recovery units (OSCARs) are strategically placed within each coop area, and are available to all member companies. WCSS is governed by a Board of Directors drawn from the major industry sectors.
