BASICS Devon (British Association for Immediate Care)

www.bascis-devon.org.uk

BASICS Devon is a registered charity providing a network of emergency volunteer doctors who provide immediate access to specialist medical care at the scene of an accident or illness. These committed volunteer doctors make themselves available around the clock throughout the year. Giving up their spare time, they respond to incidents at the request of the South West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SWASFT). They respond in their own cars, to get to a roadside incident or home emergency. BASICS Devon volunteer responders help save lives across rural Devon and can be at your side in minutes. In 2016 they attended 412 incidents, 30% of the patients they attended to were during the hours of darkness! Some of our team are also educators, teaching vital life-saving skills to other emergency carers locally and around the UK. All are fully committed to providing the best possible emergency medical support, working together with ambulance colleagues and other emergency services to save local lives – when seconds count. BASICS Devon Doctors can provide an additional tier of medical care which supports and supplements the excellent service provided by our local ambulance crews. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations. With call outs increasing by over 30% BASICS Devon needs your support. You can help save more lives in your local area. Anytime. Anywhere in Devon.
