Jordan Upshaw was raised mostly in rural Nova Scotia but constantly was moving around, being naturally both out-going yet reserved, Jordan used clothing & style as a means to quickly understand people and connect. Pure happenstance brought Jordan under Lisa Drader-Murphy, Canadian designer of the House of Lisa Drader-Murphy here he experienced first hand the ins-and-outs of one of the few remaining vertical fashion houses in North America. The personal dedication, appreciation, and almost intuitive sense for business Lisa showed in contrast to much of the creative industry inspired him to follow, some-what, in her foot-steps. Being the quick study he is, Jordan picked up the basics and ran with it, self-teaching himself the skills needed to create his own designs, vertically. For Jordan, creating is an intimate and strategic process. Before deciding on a design, he thinks about how a design will be used, where it will be worn, and how it will be worn.
