Carolina Kickoff (CK) is the oldest committee in the Campus Y, UNC’s Center for Social Justice. CK empowers students to break down barriers, explore new concepts, and make an impact on campus. We believe in educating students to embrace diversity and explore what it means to live within the “Carolina Way.” Students have the opportunity to meet influential members of campus life, connect with student organizations, watch performances from some of Carolina’s best student groups, and learn cheers for UNC sporting events. Students also get to move into their residence halls early, before camp starts. Through a plethora of team-building and self-building activities, CK helps campers pursue their passions and get a running start on their UNC experience. Beyond this camp, we also host events throughout the school year as well that advocate for social justice, raise funds for the organization and promote a smooth transition to the Carolina community.
