Portalis SA
www.portalis.com.auPortalis is the developer of the Cape Hardy deep-water port development, a transformational project for the Eyre Peninsula. When operational, Portalis will provide the Eyre Peninsula’s grain growers with much-needed infrastructure that will better connect them to the world. With a site spanning 1,100 hectares, this is an enduring investment in the region. Over time, Portalis will be able to meet the needs of a broader range of the Peninsula’s minerals and agriculture producers through better export and import channels, and the potential to become a regional hub for other agricultural, resources and energy activities. Once fully developed, Cape Hardy will be of national significance as the only port between Esperance and Port Kembla that can accommodate Capesize vessels. This makes it a key enabler of the proposed $2.4 billion Central Eyre Iron Project and a number of other resource projects on the Eyre Peninsula that currently lack an efficient export path to global markets. This is a quarter of billion dollars investment that will support the Eyre Peninsula’s primary producers, help the region develop and diversify its economy, and support South Australia’s growth ambitions. Portalis is a joint venture between EPCBH, Iron Road Developments and Macquarie Capital.
