We, at Enactus St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, are part of a global devout student fraternity that capitalizes on social entrepreneurship as instrumental for invigorating the potential prowess across the forsaken segments of the society. We have had 3 projects which have galvanized the ideas of students to solve real life problems affecting masses. ‘Talking Pots’, our initiative to replace the prodigal bouquet gifting culture with a practice of exchanging potted plants has been instrumental in reducing the carbon footprint. Our first sustained venture, it is now managed by our beneficiaries. Forby, we have 'Project Shuddhi' which aims to dispense effective and low-cost water filters to alter the adverse plight at ground-zero and treat fatal arsenic contamination. 'Project Pattrang' is our attempt to revive a dying art culture, Pattachitra, while bridging the demand and supply gap in the urban markets for this art form by finding multiple sale avenues and inculcating modernisation of designs.
