Global Citizen Year is launching a generation of leaders with the perspectives, skills and networks to solve humanity’s most urgent challenges. Each year we recruit talented young people who represent our world’s diversity. Using the formative transition into adulthood, we help them shape their values, identity and purpose in ways that classroom learning alone cannot. Through our virtual Academy and immersive Fellowship, we combine curriculum, coaching and lived experience to help our students develop the REAL power skills of the 21st century: Resilience, Empathy, Agency and Leadership. Ultimately, in partnership with colleges, companies and communities, we are unleashing a critical mass to build a more just, equitable and sustainable world. Since 2010, Global Citizen Year has developed the blueprint for a transformative new path between high school and adulthood. Early impact data shows that our experiences shape lives in ways that traditional schooling does not and our 1500+ alumni are thriving in college and careers.
