Stewards is a nonprofit that works with vulnerable individuals in Kern County by advocating for homelessness prevention through connection to social services, resources, and acting as an appointed representative payee service. Stewards began in the 1990s in Bakersfield, California as "Senior Serve," volunteering to manage the Social Security benefits of a dozen men at the Rescue Mission. Now with over 1,000 clients, we work with strategic partners to change lives and our communities.
