Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is a 501(c)7 non-profit organization. Founded in the year 1906, it is the nation’s first and oldest intercollegiate Greek-letter organization for established for African American college men. The fraternity has over 700 chapters that span all across the United States, the Bahamas, Germany, London, South Africa and South Korea. Mission Statement Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. The Zeta Mu chapter at Georgia State University was chartered In 1968 as the 342nd House of Alpha and the first Black Greek Lettered Organization to be chartered on a predominantly white campus in the state of Georgia.
