UMass Boston’s Gerontology Department is one of the world’s oldest and most reputable. One quarter of the world's Gerontology PhDs are earned at UMass Boston. In addition to a doctorate, we offer two master's degrees, including the fully-online Management of Aging Services MS and graduate certificate. We offer a bachelors in Global Aging and Life Course Studies and the Frank J. Manning undergrad certificate. The Gerontology Institute is a leader in research and public policy advocacy on aging. The Institute edits Journal on Aging & Social Policy, and Research on Aging.
