Established in 1987 and named after Padma Vibhushan Smt Jankidevi Bajaj, JBGVS single-mindedly works towards bridging the divide between urban and rural India by focusing on integrated rural development work that is aligned with the guidelines of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals with five major focus areas of Education, Healthcare, Environment, Economic Development and Social Development. Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha (JBGVS) is a Registered Society that works under the patronage of Shri Rahul Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Auto Limited and under the guidance of Shri Madhur Bajaj, Vice Chairman of Bajaj Auto Limited and Trustee of JBGVS. Bajaj Auto and various other companies under the Bajaj Group undertake their Corporate Social Responsibility work through JBGVS. Periodic surveys are carried out every three years to measure the rate of development achieved through the implementation of these programmes. JBGVS aims to act as a catalyst and assist the participating rural community in the selected villages to improve their quality of life through poverty alleviation, empowerment of women, gender equality and development of human and natural resources while promoting ecological balance. Till now JBGVS has directly worked in 110 villages and has indirectly reached out to more than 1000 villages. All JBGVS programmes are designed in consultation and active participation of the villagers for better acceptability and effective implementation.
