Established in 1967 by the late Mayer Kass , Mayer's Cars and Trucks Ltd. began as the exclusive importer of Volvo products to Israel. Over the years the company has developed an advanced sales and customer service network with a logistics support system and a range of complementary services such as leasing, trade-in, insurance, funding and more. During the 90s, the company acquired other top brand names such as Honda (cars, motorbikes and Power Products), Renault trucks, zhongtong Buses and LYNK & CO Electric mobility. In addition to its vehicle imports, Mayer acquired other companies with similar or complementary interests. Together they now form the leading vehicle group in Israel – Hertz Car Rental, Auto Center (second-hand cars), Kavim (public transport), Merkavim (bus chassis), Kogol Unitrade (Michelin tire importers), Mayer Ramot insurance services, Israel Phoenix and others. The Mayer Group is also the sole owner of the Maccabi Haifa Football Club and a number of overseas companies active in real estate and public transport.
