A professional woodturner, Kurt enjoys the continuum of woodturning from making his own turning tools to photographing his finished turnings. He keeps his turnings diverse in an effort to explore fully the craft and the medium. As frequent demonstrator and instructor on all facets of woodturning, he particularly enjoys teaching tool sharpening, workholding, and advanced penmaking. Kurt is President of the American Association of Woodturners, one of the four Council Members of the Pen Makers Guild, and past Chairman of the Rochester Woodworkers Society. He writes a regular feature column for Woodturning Magazine and wrote two regular columns for Woodturning Design Magazine until the demise of the parent company. His work has been featured in the American Association of Woodturners "Rounding The Corners" Exhibit and published in Woodturning Design, Woodturning magazine, American Woodturner, Pen World, and Stylus magazines.
