The Center for Technological Risk Studies (CERTEC) is an organization whose objectives are research and training in various fields related to risk and security. We develop training, research, and technology transfer projects in the public and private sectors, both nationally and internationally. It was created in 1992 by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Some of these activities are developed within the framework of international collaboration, others for the administration and others for companies. We have intense international relations, materialized in joint research projects and exchange programs for researchers and students. The CERTEC is made up of about twenty people between professors, researchers, and postgraduate students. We carry out research and training programs related to different aspects related to risk and safety: 1. Risk analysis in the process industry 2. Environmental risk assessment 3. Research program on forest fires 4. Research program on indoor fires 5. Study on technological risk in the industry 6. Mathematical modeling of serious accidents, fires, explosions, toxic clouds, transport of hazardous materials, accidental studies in the industry, etc. 7. Advanced research in the field of forest fires 8. Develop projects in the field of fire protection engineering 9. Training, participating in the organization of courses, seminars, and conferences. 10. Investigate accidents for insurance companies, companies or courts.
