The Community Nutrition Network and Senior Services Association "CNNSSA" is a non profit organization supported by the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois, which provides meals and resources to older adults and persons with disabilities and assists them in leading active and healthy lives. The Community Nutrition Network & Senior Services Association became a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2000. In order to remain in full operation and be able to expand services to meet the growing need, the Meals on Wheels Foundation (MOWF) was created in 2001 as the fundraising, community outreach, and public awareness arm of Community Nutrition Network & Senior Services Association. In 2005, Community Nutrition Network & Senior Services Association was awarded contracts to begin serving older adults in Grundy and Kendall Counties as well as in suburban Cook County. Community Nutrition Network & Senior Services Association is now one of the largest older adult meal providers in the nation. In 2015-2016, Community Nutrition Network & Senior Services Association served more than 363,000 meals to over 4,400 older adults in Northeastern Illinois. Throughout these three counties, where service is provided, there are 11 Group-Dining sites, and 9 meal distribution hubs for the Home-Delivery program.
