Goals/Guiding Principles: • Leadership and Advocacy • Provide leadership for the adoption and implementation of high standards for the selection, preparation, and assessment of candidates for certification/licensure as educators; • Promote sound practices, policies, and procedures for the continued improvement of the preparation, certification/licensure, employment, and career-long development of educators; • Recognize the role of a variety of entities which support or provide for preparation, licensure/ certification, and career-long development of educators. • Information and Dissemination • Disseminate information on the use of technology and other methodologies that enhance the management of certification/licensure systems; • Make available current information on requirements and procedures related to the preparation and certification/licensure of educators. • Quality Assurance and Protection • Provide policies and practices to protect students from educators who have been found unfit to practice; • Facilitate the mobility of certified/licensed educators. •
