At New Way, we take an innovative and interactive approach to learning. We want our students, ages 10-16, to be their best versions of themselves. Our English programs combine Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) with Project-Based Learning (PBL) in order to create an inspiring environment that encourages critical thinking, self-awareness, community-building and empathy. We are creating the futures of entrepreneurs. SEL is based on 5 core components: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, relationship skills, and social awareness. We conduct all our programs with these 5 underlying themes in mind because we want our students to come out of New Way ready to head into high school inspired to make positive changes in the world. PBL connects our students to the real world. Our projects are designed to put the 5 SEL core components in action as we teach our learners to meet and accept the real world challenges of teamwork, trial & error, and positive risk taking. We want our students to be empowered by education and feel that they are in charge of their own learning to boost their self-confidence. Our goal is for New Way to be a fun and creative place for our students to be part of a unique community, explore the world and feel amazing about themselves. Our after school programs run 2-3 times a week. We divide our programs based on English speaking levels, yet the goals and content of each project and program remain the same. New Way is not a simple language school. We want to emphasize that building knowledge, emotional awareness, and a positive self-belief system are equally as important as getting good grades in school.
