Sandra Friesen Design is a partnership between Jakub Dolejš and Sandra Friesen. Sandra grew up in Ottawa, Canada watching her dad paint signs by hand and she thinks that’s when her love of typography began. She graduated with a degree in design from The Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver in 1999 and began by working in film and television designing titles and visual effects. Broadcast was great, but she missed paper and in 2003 she set out on her own and established Sandra Friesen Design. Jakub grew up in Prague, Czech Republic. Even as a young boy Jakub knew he was an artist. Jakub graduated from the Academy of Art Architecture and Design in 1998 with a master’s degree in painting and then joined Sandra in Vancouver. Jakub’s many talents include web, user interface and type design. Now they live in London where they can indulge their passion for design and art by soaking up all that the city has to offer.
