KURSAAL Congress Centre is a spectacular architectural work of Rafael Moneo, winner of the Mies var der Rohe Prize in 2001. Situated in front of the sea and in the city centre, the venue attracts over 200 events every year: congresses, corporate meetings, exhibitions and cultural events. It is the permanent venue of San Sebastian Film Festival (A category) and the Musical Fortnight, the most ancient music festival in Spain and one of the most long-standing in Europe. The venue has 2 auditoria, one with capacity for 1,806 people and a smaller one for 624 people, as well as 15 fully equipped meeting-rooms. In addition, the building offers 5,000 square meters for exhibitions, a magnificent foyer with 2 large windows facing the sea, 2 open-air terraces and a spectacular LED screen (1,500sqm) on its west façade, one of the biggest in Europe. The catering service is offered by Grupo Ixo. Andoni Luis Adúriz, a top 10 chef of the Best Restaurant Ranking also awarded with 2 Michelin stars is in charge of it. The group also manages the “ni neu” restaurant, built into the venue. The restaurant offers a bistro and an open-air terrace on the ground floor, as well as a restaurant and a private open-air lounge terrace with a view of the romantic area of the city.
