Serikon is the name of an ensemble founded by trombonist Daniel Stighäll which focuses on improvisation in renaissance music and contemporary music performed by historical instruments and singers. Serikon take special interest in how music was spread throughout Europe and the rest of the world and how a piece can be traced as a red thread from country to country. Also, how european music was influented by Folkmusic from other countries. A result of this, apart from performing historical music in a traditional way, Serikon also specialises in improvisations over renaissance standards.
