Built Green Santa Barbara is a 501c3 nonprofit associated with the Santa Barbara Contractor's Association and developed in partnership with local educational, environmental, professional, and government organizations. The BGSB office is located in downtown Santa Barbara in a historic green remodel that demonstrates that green building can be rewarding and practical. The Built Green Resource Center has green product displays, interactive exhibits on the building's performance, a library, and a classroom for green building training. In challenging economic times, Built Green Santa Barbara has more than 100 participating members. The organization is considered the gateway to green building in Santa Barbara County and participates in local efforts such as the local Architecture 2030 initiative, EmpowerSBC, and the Green Construction Academy.
