Expanding the BenchTM (ETB), incubated by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and now led by Change Matrix, serves to increase diversity in the evaluation field. ETB is based upon the belief that information and data have power to shape policy, programs, and practice and that evaluators from diverse, historically marginalized and under-supported backgrounds increase the likelihood that methods, analyses, and interpretation benefit the communities they serve. ETB has a three-pronged approach: 1) developing and expanding a new pathway for diverse evaluators; 2) promoting the practice of excellent, equitable evaluation by supporting a network of diverse evaluators; and 3) increasing demand among funders of evaluation for diverse evaluators practicing culturally responsive and equitable evaluation (CREE).
