The East Coast Trail Association (ECTA) is a member-based, volunteer-supported and managed registered charity. Formed in 1994, ECTA’s mission is to provide a wilderness hiking experience by developing and maintaining the trail, promoting public access, minimizing impacts on the natural environment and protecting the trail for future generations. Since 1994, the ECTA has developed over 300 kilometres of world-class wilderness hiking trail spanning the eastern edge of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula from Topsail Beach to Cappahayden.
