CLARK was founded in 1974 by Michael Clark when he left the Royal Navy, where he had served for twelve years as an apprentice and electrical engineer. The business established a reputation for industrial and commercial electrical engineering in and around Europe’s fastest growing city: Milton Keynes. In 1994 Mike’s son James joined the firm and also qualified as an electrical engineer. In 2001 the business incorporated as Clark & Son Electrical Service Ltd. The company grew and evolved to not only offer a broader range of cabling services but also to offer those services further afield across the UK – and occasionally overseas. Electrical projects are often part of a broader scope of works. CLARK recognised that many customers sought a more complete offering from a single point of contact rather than having to organise and schedule multiple trades. The business initially extended to include network cabling but it was logical to add building, office interior and maintenance capabilities to the company. In 2017 the company rebranded to CLARK Electrical & General. The company has a strong customer base, some of whom have been using CLARK since the 1970s and 1980s. Together we have seen huge changes not just in the types and standards of wiring (data cabling emerged in the early 1990s), but the ways in which commercial properties are frequently reconfigured to suit ever-evolving business needs. Our customer base now includes every size and kind of business from small local businesses to multi nationals.
