We-Empower Inc.
www.we-empower.coWe-Empower is a team of highly qualified agribusiness professionals who are dedicated to improving Food Security. Our experts have designed and built state-of-the-art warehouse units for dry bulk, bagged, and cold storage of agricultural products that reduce post-harvest losses from 50% to 5% or less. Reducing post-harvest losses is cost-effective and environmentally responsible. Rapidly increasing urban populations are becoming food insecure in many countries. Improving post-harvest handling supports the livelihoods of the rural poor, increases food quality, and ensures the quantity of food needed by expanding urban populations. Although smallholder farmers are the backbone of the agricultural sector, they are capacity constrained by poor infrastructure, lack of access to markets, poor nutrition, and limited opportunities for skills-training. Unfortunately, smallholder agriculture is often unprofitable, due to a lack of basic business education. While women make up most of the labor force in smallholder agriculture, women and girls rarely receive the same opportunities as boys and men. A sustainable agricultural system must be more inclusive to ensure affordable food supplies and employment opportunities for all. We-Empower believes that education is the key to improving the livelihood of smallholder farmers. We bring innovative approaches to farming as a business and improvement of livestock productivity through participatory training of farmers, cooperatives, agricultural extension agents, and the people that support these enterprises. By capacity building within the government (ministries and gov’t agencies), cooperatives, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), all the way to smallholder farmers, producers, and farmers organizations in the field, We-Empower can help improve the sustainability of food supplies, increase income through value-chain development, protect the environment, and improve family nutrition. Non-Profit Organization 501(c)(3)
