Moreton Island is just 40km off the coast of Brisbane - just 75 minutes ferry ride away. Home to a National Park, pristine beaches and the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. Our holiday home is located in a residential estate within the Tangalooma Resort precinct. The Moreton Island National Park covers approximately 98% of Moreton Island. This is the third largest sand island in the world. The island consists entirely of sand except for a small outcrop of sandstone at Cape Moreton on the northern tip of the island. So if you are planning to explore the island you will need a 4WD or alternatively you can hire a 4WD from the resort. The island is famous for its beaches which range from sheltered family beaches on the western side to the surf beaches on the eastern side of the island.
