International School of Busan
www.isbusan.orgInternational School of Busan (ISB) is an international school situated in Busan, South Korea's second largest city. We educate children from the age of two years old in our playgroup, right through to university entrance age in Grade 12. We are an IB World School offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the IB Diploma Programme (DP). Our approach to teaching is student-centered and inquiry based with a focus on conceptual learning and the inclusion of both local and global contexts. We promote teamwork and collaboration, we explore differentiation, we use assessments to inform teaching and planning, and technology throughout the school including a one-to-one laptop programme in our Middle and High Schools. We aim to develop independent and lifelong learners. Families and teachers come from all over the world and ISB is proud of its international mix of students and staff. We have a fleet of 17 buses which travel over the south east of Korea to carry children to and from the campus. ISB is a fully not-for-profit organisation that is served by a volunteer Board of Governors who are elected every two years. The ISB campus was built with the assistance of the Busan City Government to help improve the educational opportunities for expatriate families in the region. It covers 30,000 square meters and includes 4 fully equipped science labs, 3 computer rooms, 3 art rooms, 3 libraries, dedicated music and music practice rooms, design technology rooms, assembly halls, large cafeteria and gymnasium, a tennis court, soccer field, running track and playgrounds for all ages.
