Founded in 2001, GBCA (Goldsmith Borgal & Company Ltd. Architects) is an architectural firm specialising in heritage consulting, technical consulting, adaptive reuse and restoration. How We Work GBCA has an established reputation in heritage-related architectural projects. A high level of technical expertise and specialised knowledge supports complex interdisciplinary projects that not only conserve and protect the built and cultural heritage of a site, but also support the contemporary needs of the owners and occupants. With the belief that the greenest buildings are those that already exist, the collaboration of the firm with design teams has resulted in award-winning adaptive reuse and rehabilitation projects. What We Do In addition to preparing Heritage Impact Assessments, conservation plans, and condition reviews, GBCA also provides assistance on technical issues related to building envelopes and the integration of new systems into heritage buildings. Who We Are Our team reflects the nature of the firm with most staff members functioning at a senior level. These include registered architects, an architectural historian, an architectural researcher, conservation specialists, and support staff, many being members of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP).
