Voices for Interactive Choice and Empowerment (VOICE)
www.voicebd.orgWe are a rights-based organization working with diverse stakeholders including vulnerable communities, policy makers, civil society groups, and the youth. Our approaches are rooted into universal rights and justice for all through inclusive and sustainable development and conservation. Since the early days after establishment, we are working with the main focus on mass-communication and access to information by marginalized communities. Later, that led us to work for promoting community-based radios in Bangladesh. Currently, we represent as a member of the Regulatory Authority on Community Radio, Ministry of Information, and Government of Bangladesh. We have working experience with Association for Progressive Communication (APC) that pioneered digital connectivity for grassroots development workers and communicators in the country. We also have experience of working with many related organisations including Privacy International-UK, Global Partner Associates-UK (funded by Foreign and Commonwealth Organization), Open Net Initiative (ONI)-Canada (funded by IDRC), EURODAD-Belgium, and Asia Pacific Research Network and Reality of Aid Network, Jubilee South Asia Pacific Movement on Debt and Development. We are a member of a number of global communication organization networks including Communication Rights in the Information Society (CRIS), World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), and NGO Forum on ADB. We are also a member of a number of national networks in Bangladesh— including Citizen’s Campaign on Right to Information, Right to Information Forum (RTI Forum), Bangladesh Water Integrity Network (BAWIN) etc. We play an important role promoting SDGs agenda and it played the role being co-chair of Global CSO Forum during High-Level Meeting held in Bali, Indonesia.
