Clubhouse SA Inc., also known as ‘Diamond House’ provides Recovery Oriented Psychosocial Rehabilitation programs designed to support and encourage people with a mental illness. Clubhouse SA Inc. is a member of the International Centre for Clubhouse Development, (ICCD) which was founded on the realization that recovery from a mental illness must involve the whole person in a vital and culturally sensitive community. Diamond House provides programs and services which help people to live successfully at their optimal level of independent functioning in the community. We provide opportunities for people aged 16 years and over to explore options relating to employment, pre-vocational courses, health and wellbeing, education, skills based training, recreational activities and personal development courses in a safe and supportive environment. We differ from other psycho-social rehabilitation models in that members have equal rights and representation in all aspects of the day-to-day functioning, maintenance of Clubhouse and the decision making processes. Two elected members also sit on the Board of Directors of Clubhouse. We are open Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and Saturdays 9.00 am to 2.00 pm. Visits to Diamond House are by appointment only.
