Southern University Foundation
foundation.sus.eduThe Southern University Foundation drives progress. Our guiding mission is to strengthen the academic vision and goals of the Southern University System while providing the resources and funding necessary to accomplish the System's objectives. Through our stewardship, one of the South's most prominent and accessible Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) continues to build a more equitable future for all. Established in 1968, the Foundation fosters growth, equips faculty with cutting-edge resources, promotes endowment opportunities, educates on philanthropy, and prepares students for the world of tomorrow. The Southern Foundation accomplishes its mission by: 🔹 Building and maintaining relationships with alumni and friends, advocating charitable giving and raising funds on behalf of Southern University; 🔹 Seeking contributions for academic purposes as part of Southern University's overall advancement effort; 🔹 Investing and disbursing funds to meet the needs of Southern University; 🔹 Reinforcing relationships with donors to Southern University; and 🔹 Living a #TrueBLUE life. What does TrueBlue mean to us? It means taking actionable steps toward a better tomorrow and not merely talking about progress. It means building on a proud legacy of conferring the most black graduates with a bachelor's degree in the State of Louisiana. We proactively work to generate the necessary funds for Southern University's continued success, and we do so proudly because 'We Are Southern.' All who live the TrueBLUE life become a part of our family. Our programs are representative of the real needs within not only our university system but also their surrounding communities. Beyond our ability to raise money for academic scholarships and faculty endeavors, the Foundation helps to positively impact the lives of those within our society. Join us as we transform higher education through our philanthropic efforts. Take part in our story, live #TrueBLUE!
