Naudain Academy, a Montessori school, was opened in 1977 by Leddy M. Naudain, who continues to be the school’s director. As the school community prepares for its 37th anniversary in September, we are reminded of the reasons for the school’s positive reputation. They include the yearly retention rate, enrollment of alumni plus staff longevity. Known for its strong academic program, the school embraces the Montessori philosophy of “follow the child”. We focus on individualized instruction, fostered by the belief that children develop and learn at their own pace and according to their own abilities. Naudain Academy enrolls children from many cultural backgrounds who are ages 18 months – 6 yrs old. We have toddler, primary and Kindergarten classrooms. In addition, the school has a large playground, peace gardens and an amphitheater used for storytelling, presentations and drama classes. Students also receive additional enrichment such as Spanish, Music and Exercise classes. Naudain Academy is open year around from 7:30am – 6:00pm. The Summer Enrichment Program has weekly thematic units and is greatly respected since children are treated as a name rather than a number. Every classroom is staffed by a certified Montessori teacher and an experienced assistant. The faculty of Naudain is devoted to guiding each child to reach his or her fullest potential. Year after year, our students graduate to become self-motivated, life-long learners.
