Hope Ventures
www.hopeventures.org.auBecause People Matter Hope Ventures has existed in different iterations for almost ninety years, but really found its footing in the 1990s in response to the issue of homelessness and the need to care for the many disadvantaged and marginalised in Brisbane. Hope Ventures has three main arms. Mimi's House: Mimi’s House partners with primary schools, families and local communities to support the social, emotional and physical development of children through the development of key life skills. This starts with a full-year early intervention program, with wrap around family support and options for a second-year mentoring program. Circuit Breaker: The Circuit Breaker course is somewhere that hundreds of people have been able to find help, change and a new life. It's a ten week group based program for anyone who feels their temper is affecting the quality of their relationships. We offer training and support to churches and community groups around the country and beyond, giving communities the ability to deliver the Circuit Breaker program locally. By giving people the skills to deal with conflict, we are preventing violence and supporting families to thrive. Community Connect: Our community connect hubs deliver a range of supports, including emergency relief food parcels, crisis intervention, work readiness and community support and engagement, in a culturally meaningful way. We start by understanding and listening to needs, and then journey with individuals and families to address those needs, drawing on our community partnerships. We offer a hand up, not just a hand out.
