Through events, workshops, videos and research, Music Tourist facilitates connections between the many areas of the music and tourism industries, creating opportunities for closer collaboration and partnerships. In 2016 the company organised the world's first music tourism summit in Glasgow. The following year it partnered with the city of Adelaide and South Australian Tourism Commission to host a workshop and presentations during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2018 Music Tourist assisted Newcastle University academics Matthew Ord and Adam Behr in a music tourism study published in spring 2019. During November founder Olaf Furniss has hosted a workshop for Reykjavik Music City's Music Tourism Symposium and has spoken at Nouvelle Prague and Linecheck Italy (in Milan). .
