The Tunisian International Model United Nations (TIMUN) is an association founded in October 2009 by students from the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences of Tunis, whose objective is to promote the principles of the United Nations and to strengthen the skills of young pupils and students. Our main activity is to organize MUNs, or simulations of the United Nations. A Model United Nations (MUN or Model UN), is a simulation of the United Nations which aims to train participants in international negotiations. These simulations aim to promote human rights, communication and international relations skills as well as the basics of diplomacy. As part of the Model United Nations, students take on the role of ambassadors or foreign ministers and represent the policies of their respective countries by participating in simulations of international sections of the UN. Thus, participants should research countries, debates and international issues in an attempt to find solutions to global issues. TIMUN is a pioneer in its field. Indeed, in April 2010, we organized the first national simulation of the United Nations in Tunisia and in the Maghreb. Today we are starting the organization of its 12th edition.
