Sow Reap Feed

www.sowreapfeed.org

The concept of Sow Reap Feed goes far beyond food production. It is the framework we use to define how we share the love and hope of Jesus with the world around us. Our mission is to provide food for the hungry, assistance to the afflicted, and hope to those in despair. We have kept our mission very straightforward because we have seen these themes repeated over and over throughout Scripture. In the Old Testament God tells his people very specifically, through the prophet Isaiah, to "Feed the hungry and help those in trouble" (Isa 58:10). In the New Testament we hear Jesus tell his disciples to give food to the hungry, drinks to the thirsty, hospitality to the stranger, clothes to the naked, care to the sick, and companionship to the imprisoned (Mat 25:42). It can be overwhelming when you consider the scope of hurt and suffering that exists in our world. Finding a solution to these problems can easily seem like an insurmountable task, but as General Creighton Abrams said, "When eating an elephant take one bite at a time." So we decided to take a simplified approach by doing just as the Bible instructs. We love our neighbors and we go out of our way to do it. We do this because we believe it will cause a ripple effect that will carry on to places far beyond our reach, impacting the lives of people we will never know, long after we're gone. We do this because we realize it is only by the grace of God we are free to rise above our circumstances and experience true joy and happiness. We do this because every life has value.
