Malm Orstad, who is the father of the current owners - Magne and Leif Orstad, established the company in 1946. Up to the end of 1980, Malm Orstad AS’ market was mainly the agricultural industry, but since then has focused on the offshore industry. Today, 99 percent of the contracts come from this market. The company’s core business areas are engineering and manufacturing. We offer our customers a complete package solution in order to simplify the projects and give them a single point of contact. Problem solving, troubleshooting, modelling, concept studies, detail design and product development are just a few of the services we provide. Short lead times, strong product know-how and a high level of quality are our main advantages as a supplier. Our engineering department has extensive experience in the field of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and control systems used in the offshore and onshore industries. Having engineers close to the production facilities has proved to be important in development of the most functional solutions and the most cost-effective production solutions. In addition, we are technology-conscious and in the last few years, have invested in machinery and equipment in step with development. This has enabled Malm Orstad to handle complex projects from idea to finished product and project, to delivery of a finished and fully documented product. When Malm Orstad is involved in major contracts, we can assume project manager responsibility for our customers and deliver within the agreed milestones. Our participation in projects varies from having full responsibility, including engineering, to being a machining, assembly and testing supplier. Malm Orstad is certified in accordance with NS-ISO 9001-2008 and 14001-2004. API certified to Q1 and 16F. Malm Orstad is also Achilles approved.
