O2 Led is a Brazilian company focused on development, manufacturing and sale of led lighting products. O2 Led started operations in 2008 as ARPe Tecnologia Ltda. (ARPeLUX) by selecting, developing and submitting to the approval process its national and overseas supplier chain. The company also designed and developed a local manufacturing structure for selected led lighting products. At the same time, O2’s Engineering has designed and performed testing to the company’s current portfolio of products and the first patents were applied, too. In 2009, the supplier chain has been defined and the manufacturing process was duly structured. In the same year, ARPeLUX was responsible for the development and implementation of the first Street Light Project in Brazil with all products manufactured in Brazil. Despite the fact that it was a big challenge and a pioneer project for a very young company, the project was very successful. It’s been now more than 4 years since the street lights were turned on and it is been reported zero defects. The Project took place in the main bridge (Ponte Rosinha Fillipo) of Guaratinguetá, a city that is about 200 Km from Sao Paulo. In 2010, Grupo Artesia, a very aggressive investor’s group, took over the control of ARPeLUX through a venture capital agreement and the company started operating under the name O2 Led Illumination.
