The Ashland Resource Center is an online forum and portal for people to communicate and exchange ideas and build projects locally. This social network has actual face-to-face gatherings in addition to the on-line network. The purpose of the resource center is the sharing of information about activities in our area and keeping a comprehensive inventory of local resources, people, projects, businesses and organizations. Additionally we run a small news/media organization that emphasizes sustainability and community values featuring user-generated content (e.g., blogs, videos, photos, music, events) selected from the Internet. This local resource center is a model for other communities and we're planning to launch other resource centers regionally and globally. The Ashland Resource Center is enjoying steady growth from its 978+ members having posted 3,526 photos, 208 songs, 648 videos, 89 discussions, 1,850 events and 463 blog posts. We've received over 26,938 unique visitors, 66,027 visits and 354,047 page views over the since our inception. (See: Google Analytics)
