A passion for rivers and adventure... Rapid Horizons was born from an idea that white water rafting and kayaking should be made as accessible as possible. An activity that provides excitement and adventure for every type of person, an idea that is now a reality. Founded by whitewater rafting and kayaking enthusiasts... Rapid Horizons is a proud, established and dedicated company with the aim to give you the best experience on the river. Set up by Jon Best in 2012 (British freestyle Kayak Champion 2008) the company has grown from strength to strength. A unique quality of Rapid Horizons is being able to take the operation to different locations around the UK. These locations differ depending on the groups ability and requests. Licensing... Rapid Horizons is Licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service(AALS). AALS is the licensing service for outdoor activity centres for young people in Great Britain. Part of the Health and Safety Executive AALS inspects the safety standards of outdoor activity centres and issues licenses accordingly. Who are the staff? The guides who work for Rapid Horizons are extremely passionate about river guiding. Highly experienced and well travelled all of them share the same enthusiasm for outdoor adventure. All of the guides at Rapid Horizons offer something different to the team, their varied experience is refreshing and exciting, you're never short of a crazy story to keep you entertained on the river. Qualifications and Safety... Every guide is qualified by the National Governing Body for paddle sport (BCU) and many also hold an International Rafting Federation certificate (IRF). Whitewater safety and rescue training is a prerequisite when working for Rapid Horizons.
