YoungShip is a professional non-profit organisation for young people working within the global maritime industry. Founded in Bergen in 2004, the initiative spread quickly to other maritime hubs. The global YoungShip network today counts more than 3.000 individual members in Oslo, Haugesund, Sorlandet, Stavanger, Kristiansand, Trondheim, Gothenburg, Dubai, Liverpool, Rio de Janeiro, Rotterdam, Texas, Mombasa and also the countries of Singapore, Cyprus, Mexico and Italy. The Rotterdam branch was established in November 2014 and has proved to be a suitable platform for equal minded maritime young professionals and students to come together. A broad mix of international attendees, usually find their way to our monthly gatherings and other activities. YoungShip´s core purpose is to provide a competence and network enhancing arena for our members, and to promote the young professionals in the global maritime industry. We also have a particular focus on developing the young generations´ knowledge and interest for environmental developments, innovation and entrepreneurship. Our sister organisations in Greece, New York, London, Australia and Hong Kong are inspired by the YoungShip concept. All members of these organisations are entitled to attend events organized by other branches & sister organisations. Our vision: “YoungShip Rotterdam shall promote and stimulate competence and network development for young professionals from all sectors of the maritime industry in the greater Rotterdam area.”
