Aqualyte Hydration

www.aqualyte.com.au

Aqualyte is a low sugar, hypotonic fluid and electrolyte solution. It is scientifically formulated for rapid absorption to prevent dehydration and its effects on health and performance of workers, athletes and active individuals. Point Health Pty Ltd began developing Aqualyte in 2002 as a consequence of Dr Graham Bates' occupational health research program at Mt Isa Mines in Australia. His study focused on the relationship between mine workers' hydration levels, health and safety when working in hostile conditions, to understand how shifts could be lengthened to align with industry standards without compromising workers' health or performance. One of the study's key insights was just how poorly hydrated workers were. It led Dr Bates to begin searching for hydration fluids appropriate for this environment on a prolonged basis. Unable to find any, he decided to create one. From the outset, Aqualyte's development was driven by the findings of this study and laboratory research into sweat composition and thermoregulation at Curtin University (Perth, Western Australia). This research yielded the world's most comprehensive database on sweat rates and composition in hot environments.
