Established in 2007, DARKON is dedicated to the local design and fabrication of a comprehensive range of proprietary extruded aluminium profiles, architectural downlights, as well as an original ‘classic/contemporary’ decorative lighting catalogue. The historical roots of the business are in the Dean Phillips Architectural Lighting company through which the custom and decorative ranges are still branded. 100% Australian owned, Darkon focuses its activities on the manufacture of high-quality specialist lighting for a diverse range of applications, ranging from commercial and government projects, to supply into the residential, retail, health and education sectors. A brand new purpose built ‘Advanced Manufacturing 4.0’ production facility located in Broadmeadows was opened in Melbourne in March 2021. This plant includes a laser cutting facility, CNC machined extrusion production lines, a down-light production workshop, and in-house powder-coating capabilities. Darkon also has a dedicated Sydney Office and Showroom, a Perth Sales Office as well as an inner city Sales Office in Melbourne located at Waterloo Street, Collingwood. Our highly skilled workforce is supported interstate and internationally by a network of established Distributing Agents who represent the brand with professional expertise in their local regions. Darkon has formed strategic partnerships with two external lighting global market leaders, Lumascape and LuxConex, with Australian distribution rights for their innovative suite of exterior architectural luminaires and high grade flexible silicone products. Combined with a supply partnership with Austrian LED technology engineering specialists Tridonic, Darkon’s core competencies in product design and manufacture provide the ability to deliver complete end-to-end, turnkey solutions for all scopes of project work, backed by the highest level of product warranty and compliance in the industry.
