jpccalp.wordpress.comThe Adult Learning Program of the Jamaica Plain Community Centers JPCCALP) is a community-based adult education organization providing innovative, learner-centered, participatory educational programs to educationally disadvantaged and Limited English Proficient adults. Our services include free basic education, English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation, distance learning, career readiness, and transitions to college. We offer adults the tools they need to attain the education, skills, and self-confidence that will enable them to more fully participate in their communities and in the education of their children, and that will further enhance opportunities for personal development and economic self-sufficiency. The Adult Learning Program has provided free education to low and moderate income adults since 1978. Each year, we serve over 450 adults, from 18 years of age and up. We assist all students with achieving their educational, pre-vocational and vocational goals. 50+ volunteers assist our learners each year, through individual and small group tutoring, as in-class assistants, as career counselors, and to support program administration.
