The Tunisian Association for Wildlife (ATVS) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, aims to study and promote biodiversity on a national and international scale through an ecosystemic approach for conservation, awareness-raising purposes and sustainable development. In order to concretize this vision, the association has defined the following 3 objectives: The contribution to the establishment of a qualitative and quantitative inventory of national and international biodiversity. Valorization and biodiversity conservation through an ecosystemic approach. Raising awareness of the public on the importance of biodiversity. ATVS’s team consists of 13 members; it includes a 7-year expertise in the Mediterranean conservation and arid ecosystems, a 10-year expertise in entomological taxonomy coupled with the largest private collection of insects in Tunisia comprising more than 15,000 specimens but also young multidisciplinary researchers: Botany, Macroalgae, Reptiles, Mammals, Arachnids, Heritage and Socio-economics.
