Holiday Shores Volunteer Fire Department (HSFD) is located at 93 Holiday Dam Road, Edwardsville, IL within the unincorporated private community of Holiday Shores. Holiday Shores is approximately 6 miles north of Edwardsville, Illinois and is served by the Edwardsville School District. The focal point of the community is Holiday Lake – a 420-acre lake serving both fishermen and recreational boaters. Circling the lake are three swimming beaches, with Main Beach offering lifeguard protection during the summer months. A gathering place for Holiday Shores residents is its Clubhouse where community members can dine at Gingerz or attend an event in the spacious multi-purpose room. The largest of the community’s several playgrounds is also located by the Clubhouse and Main Beach. Holiday Shores offers its members a taste of rural life while only being 35 minutes from the Gateway Arch and other St. Louis area attractions. The Holiday Shores Fire Protection District serves a 16 square mile fire district that includes the vast majority of Holiday Shores subdivision. Although the District's borders do not follow streets exactly, the District is generally bordered by Indian Creek to the West, Caribbean Drive to the North, Miller Drive to the South and Old Prairietown Road to the East. Although much of the area is Rural and still undeveloped, the district has some light commercial occupancy and a residential population of over 3,000.
