Most of us have experienced financial crisis of some kind. But, more often than not, we have family, friends, or another resource we can lean on to get through it. When it happens to families without a network, it’s devastating and can lead to chronic homelessness, children placed into care homes, and cycles of debt that can be almost impossible to break. We’re here to be the community they need to keep their families together and safe. 38 million people in the US struggle with poverty, and a financial crisis often means long-reaching disaster for their family. These opportunities feel too large for the average person to help, so they often go unsupported. So, we decided to spread out the weight of the needs and change our neighbors’ stories, for good. By asking people to partner with us by donating $10 a month, we've created a model where giving is sustainable for the average person. And that’s the beauty of a NET, right? You or I don’t have to carry the whole burden alone. Instead, we spread out the weight, ‘til it’s so light it barely affects us. After all, when we each carry a little, we can carry a lot!
