Hungarian Youth Council of Romania
www.mitesek.netTHE HUNGARIAN YOUTH COUNCIL OF ROMANIA The HYCR is a NGO/non-profit, self-supporting organization in Romania, protecting and representing Hungarian youth. The HYCR includes several organizations which represent the interests of Hungarian youth in Romania, including: programming and management organizations, youth organizations from Hungarian historical churches, professional organizations representing Hungarian youth and other special activity areas. Occasionally the Youth Council will take a stand on current social and political questions. The HYCR was founded in 1995 as the representative organization of Hungarian youth in Romania. Our activity includes: • Tusványos Open University and Student Camp (Bálványosi Nyári Szabadegyetem és Diáktábor) – The free forum of free ideas. During the five days, participants can listen to discussions about current topics during daytime and attend concerts and parties after sunset. • Dinamit! – conference of success where Transylvanian young people talk about their success story trying to inspire youngsters to create a career home. • "Red rover, red rover, send right over!" (Adj, király, katonát!) – group competition for children aged 10 to 15. The aim is to popularize the Hungarian tales and the beauty of big families. • Hungarian job fair (Mesterségem címere – állásbörze) – During the job fair we want to connect the Hungarian employers with the Hungarian students. This way we can help the youth to find jobs and the companies to find young workers. • Civil school (Civilsuli) – It is a training series in different topics: finance, communication, design, leadership. Member of the HYCR can be any Hungarian youth organization in Romania which accepts the principles of the HYCR. Full membership in this federation can be any territorial Hungarian youth organization and/or federation. Local, regional and other youth-oriented organizations have the right to participate in conferences.
