While the loss of industry has resulted in disproportionate unemployment on Chicago’s Northwest Side it has also brought a tremendous increase in business startup opportunities and boundless ideas for new enterprises. Locally and throughout Illinois, there is a growing need for new, self-sustaining, market driven streams of revenue to augment diminishing resources. Venture Hub’s approach is based on the idea that the ideas and fledgling innovations must be catalyzed and nurtured to create job opportunities. The neediest among us—and the organizations that serve them—must rise above dependency upon public sources of financial support. Each Venture Hub initiative addresses a different aspect of business development.
